Recently, I’ve been working on reading Richard Freeman’s beautiful book, The Mirror of Yoga. I say working on, because it’s the kind of book that reads effortlessly (he is a very poetic writer) and tricks me into thinking, “aha, I get what you are saying”. But in truth, the philosophical concepts Freeman is describing are venerable and steeped in layers of meaning, and I would be fooling myself if I said I “understand” Yoga philosophy.
